SPIN Fellowship / New to Leadership Programmes
The SPIN Fellowship and New to Leadership Programme (NtLP) Pilot, supported by NHS England and delivered by the Islington GP Federation and Training Hub, are designed to support newly qualified primary care professionals, as well as health, care, and local system leaders across the Islington Borough in developing essential leadership skills.
Led by our Islington Training Hub Clinical Lead, Deputy Clinical Lead, and supported by a team of GPs and social care managers, the programme offers a mix of shadowing opportunities, portfolio projects, leadership workshops, and peer support.
The aim of the programme is to increase collaboration, promote workforce wellbeing, and improve population health by strengthening leadership, encouraging team integration, and driving better health outcomes in Islington

The shadowing scheme connects fellows with professionals across primary, community, health, and social care, including the voluntary sector. Our goal is to broaden fellows’ perspectives beyond their own practice and workplace, allowing them to experience collaborative working across the local system.
